Aliens, Magic, and TV Head villains are all crammed into this wonderful comic. There are moments in this that will actually, make your heart drop. I want to admit that I am a ignorant newcomer to comics, but was blown away by this sc-fi epic drama. I have shied away from comics because I thought they were all about superheros and nothing else. But this has been recommended by many people on booktube, and book blogs alike so I thought I would give it a go.
I got this hardcover volume which combined the first 18 issues of the comic, I would recommend doing if your interested in the series because its about the same price for the first three trade paperbacks. The artwork, plot, humor, and writing are all phenomenal. Despite lots of humor, be warned this comic is for mature readers, the violence and sex while entertaining is not appropriate for a young audience. I was blown away by how much I got into the story, finishing the whole thing in two days!! This will definitely appeal to sci-fi readers because it's mix of alien species, magic, and technology has something for everyone.
My favorite character by far is Lying Cat, I love cats, is a cat that can tell when someone is lying and who announces it. There's characters to root for and to despise, but all of them despite their different skills are human, and that is reflected in the kinds of decisions they make. This a wonderful story, that will keep you engaged, interested and begging for more. Look out for more comic reviews because I am definitely interested in reading other non-superhero graphic novels. If you like me never thought of comics as a wonderful story medium, definitely check this out and have your mind changed.
