FOUR STARS
Cress (The Lunar Chronicles, #3)

SYNOPSIS:

In this third book in the Lunar Chronicles, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, now with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they’re plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and her army.

Their best hope lies with Cress, a girl imprisoned on a satellite since childhood who's only ever had her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker. Unfortunately, she’s just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.

When a daring rescue of Cress goes awry, the group is separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a high price. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing prevent her marriage to Emperor Kai. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only hope the world has.

REVIEW:

Rapunzel, Cress, Marissa Meyer., InToriLex, Book Review

I enjoyed this, there was enough fairy tale, realism and action to keep me reading excitedly through. Cress finds herself growing up very fast, being pushed physically, mentally and emotionally once she leaves her satellite. The motley crew of characters each learn more about themselves. The changing point of views and storylines happening from the Sahrara to Luna made the pages fly by. Cinder continues to develop more int the leader she's becoming out of necessity, and that the people of Luna need.
“I promise, I will not let you die without being kissed.”
Queen Levana is a force to be reckoned with and unfortunately is relentless with her search for Cinder and power. We learn more about how Lunars look and behave on Luna. The harsh way of life, and deadly punishments for disagreeing give us a better glimpse of what life on the moon is like. This continues to have some awesome sc-fi elements with futuristic androids and medical advances that I wasn't expecting. This books were leaps and bounds better than Scarlet which seemed to move along slowly.

Besides it having alot of  great things going for it, it suffered from some lulls between the awesomeness. The awesomeness has made me be very forgiving about passages that seemed a bit drawn out, and just ok. This was a great, fun read and I'm looking forward to how Cinder will lead and journey on, and learning more about who Queen Levana's stepdaughter Winter is. I would recommend this to fans of fairy tale retelling's, the whole series gives some awesome twists to the classics.

My Other Reviews for The SeriesL:
Cinder (Lunar Chronicles #1)
Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles #2)
Fairest: Levana's Story (The Lunar Chronicles #3.5)
Winter (The Lunar Chronicles #4)

  4. I think that Cress is my favorite in the series so far, but that is because I have not gotten my hands on Winter yet. I don't know if I will like Winter better yet, but it has been getting good reviews so far. Great review! :)
