Top Ten Tuesday, Broke and Bookish, InToriLex, Weekly Feature, Thanksgiving
Hosted by: The Broke and the Bookish
I have had a amazing year and am very grateful for the wonderful Life I have. Here are the Top Ten Reasons I'm Thankful this 2015 Holiday Season:

1. Being Able to Donate and Volunteer at the Prison for Books program
Prison Book Program, Quincy, Top Ten Tuesday, InToriLex

This Past Saturday at the Book Prison Program in Quincy I was able to donate a lot of paperbacks and volunteer my time picking out books for prisoners based on their requests. Please consider donating your books, money or time to help others.

2. I'm in Great Health
Donate Blood, Top Ten Tuesday, InToriLex
I previously had pneumonia for two years in a row in 2013 and 2014, this year I have not had to deal with that. Not being sick has great benefits including enabling you to Donate Blood, please consider if your able to.

3. Having A Wonderful Supportive Family
Please don't take for granted the people in your life. Don't regret not seeing your family or other people who love you. This is a easy fix, please call someone you love!!

4. Moving into a New Apartment with My Boyfriend
I've moved three times in three years, I'm very grateful we have found a place we love and plan to remain for at least a few years.

5. Ability to Share my Excitement and Passion for Books
Give Books, Give Back, Top Ten Tuesday, InTorilex
I love books and this blog has helped me share some awesome Book Reviews and Bookish News. I've been sent books from authors and publishers for review because of my blog. Go after what you want, I promise you'll enjoy it. Please consider taking the pledge to #GiveBooks and support wonderful authors for the upcoming holiday season.

6. Red Rising , one of My Favorite Sci-fi Books is Becoming a Movie
It is currently in pre-production. If you haven't started the series you definitely should especially with the upcoming release of, the last book in the trilogy, Morning Star (Red Rising #3) on February 9, 2016.

7. Joined and became a Co-Organizer for Boston Radical Women of Color Book Club
I took a step out of my comfort zone and joined a new book club. I wanted to join a club that would focus on women of color authors, and this has turned out to be a a great experience.

8. Able to Run and Complete a Spartan Sprint Race
Fenway Park, Spartan Race, Fitness, InToriLex
I was supposed to run the August Spartan Sprint, but didn't because a no longer friend bailed last minute. I signed up for the next Spartan Sprint happening at Fenway Park, in Boston, MA and completed it alone. If your at all interested in running a fun very doable for everyone Spartan Race Sign Up!!

9. I'm Better with Time Management= I can Read More Books
Although I only read 20 books last year, by organizing my time better I'm on my way to meeting my goal to read 45 books this year.

10. I'm Able to Wish You A Happy Thanksgiving!!
Safe travels to anyone traveling for the holiday season. I hope your turkey is delicious and you eat more than your fill.

This is a lovely list. I wish I could give blood, but various medical conditions mean that I can't. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

this was such a fun post to read this week! congrats on the Spartan race btw! that's an awesome accomplishment! i will say that is one thing i've learned when it comes to training for athletic endeavors- you have to do it on your own and not depend on someone else. i signed up for a half marathon and my friend was going to do it with me but bailed as well. i didn't want my training to go to waste though and did it by myself anyways this past summer. it was my first half marathon and i never felt more proud! i'll have to look into doing a Spartan race; that sounds fun! great TTT post this week! also, congrats on the new apartment AND your good health!

I had no idea about the program to send books to prisons; what a great idea. Maybe in 2016, I can be a little less selfish and send a copy of each book I receive as ARC or buy for myself as a way to pay it forward, as much as money allows. Congratulations on the Sprint race, apartment, and all the other accomplishments! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Tori. :)

Aimal Farooq said...

Lovely post! The prison book program sounds like such a great, thoughtful idea. I'll look into donating some books I have lying around. Congratulations on moving in with your boyfriend. That's a big step and I admire your courage to do it. Best of luck, and happy thanksgiving! x

I'm grateful to be a part of this book blogging community and as you say, to have the chance to write reviews. Since writing is something I'm serious about, it's been a great learning process. And learning to better manage my time is something I still *need* to learn. Glad you have mastered that when it comes to reading! :)

Thanks so much for visiting Dreaming Under the Same Moon, Tori. :)
